Division two of the Oxfordshire Women’s Indoor Cricket League kicked off on 12 Nov 2022 for 6 consecutive weeks between Horspath, Banbury, Oxenford and Steventon.
Horspath got off to an excellent start, winning their first match against Banbury. The team of 6, made up from a rotation of 12 Horspath players, proved strongest against their opponents throughout the tournament with their bowling, batting and fielding, helped by those taking the important risky runs wherever possible. Maiden overs, few wides, some great wicket taking and fabulous catches along with diving to stop those extra runs, was evidence of a committed team, who communicated well and adapted their play, all with great camaraderie amongst themselves and the other players. Ultimately, this team play led to winning 5 out of the 6 matches, ending top of division 2, and having lots of fun along the way!
